On February 13, 2019 the festival named “Tasty Books” were held at Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana. The purpose of the festival – the popularization of books included in the list of “100 books” and recommended for reading by students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.

Grade 7 students and their parents took part in this unusual festival organized by the school library.

The participants chose one literary piece of work from the project “100 books”, read it, and on the day of the festival, they prepared and decorated an original book-cake. The participants presented book-cakes: “My name is Kozha” (“Менің атым Қожa”), «Alice in Wonderland», “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”, “The Little prince”, “The Queen of Spades” (“Пиковая Дама”).

The students, dressed in the costumes of the main characters of the books, spoke about the plot and the authors and showed a small staging.

The festival judges highly appreciated the students’ work and gave the following nominations: “The Best Children’s Book”, “The Best Art Book”, “The Books of All Time”, “Book – Bestseller”, “The Most Tasty Book”.

The school principal Meiram Amirzhanovich Zhakenov thanked all the participants of the festival for their great work and presented them with diplomas and gifts. “There is nothing more exciting in the world than books. Only in books can we find the wisdom that has been stored for thousands of years. The “tasty books” presented today, for sure, have awakened an appetite for reading to many people, ”- said the school Principal.

The festival of books “Tasty Books” encouraged  everyone to read the books from the project “100 books” which are in different three languages! The festival turned out to be tasty and fascinating, and useful!
