The other day Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in the city of Astana was visited by the first graduates of the school Beket Tolegenov and Azat Suleimenov.
Beket Tolegenov is a graduate of the American Aerospace University Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 2020, Beket defended his PhD, worked as a research assistant at the University of New Hampshire. Recently, a graduate of the Bolashak program returned to his homeland.
Suleimenov is a graduate of Nazarbayev University, a master’s student at Boston University. Azat now lives and works in California. He is a senior engineer at Lucid Motors, a Tesla rival, and is part of the electric motor team.
In 2021, Azat was included in the rating of “30 young promising Kazakhstanis”, compiled by the editorial office of the Forbes Kazakhstan newspaper.
Graduates congratulated Meiram Amirzhanovich Zhakenov, the school principal, and Gulnara Kenzhebaevna Apeeva, their beloved teacher, on the start of the new academic year.
In a narrow circle, they recalled pleasant moments, funny and serious stories, talked about their achievements and plans.
Former students of the Intellectual School walked through the school floors, visited classrooms, talked with teachers.
“The school is always interested in the life of each graduate, rejoices in big and small victories. Beket and Azat are members of the NIS Alumni Gold Fund. They not only developed themselves, realized their talents, but also raised the prestige and status of their favorite school. We are always glad to our graduates. It is great when our graduates come to school, these meetings warm the heart” said the school principal Meiram Zhakenov.
