From 24 to 29September, the school hosted a group of students and two teachers from the International School of Hannover. German friends spent in Kazakhstan a week full of events: they became acquainted with the traditions and customs of our country, studied the sights, and most importantly – found new friends.
The guests were given a unique opportunity to see the life of both the school itself and the capital: they attended classes, extra-curricular activities and also got acquainted with the unique attractions of the capital. They were engaged not only in the educational process, but also had a great time in communicating with each other. With their peers, they visited “Baiterek”, participated in pottery master classes, made a panel with Kazakh ornament on their own.
Our guests from Hannover visited Nur Alem, the first technological museum of future energy. German schoolchildren with great interest met with the exhibits of the museum and learned about EXPO 2017, got acquainted with projects introducing alternative sources of energy in Astana and admired the only building in the world in the form of a sphere. The moments that the guests remember most of all are connected with the beautiful nature of Borovoe resort, where they enjoyed the beauty of the local lakes and the clean healing mountain air.
During a trip to Borovoe, the guests visited the Kyzyluyim village school and the Kazgorod secondary school in the village of Kazgorodok, Enbekshiler district, Akmola region. There, they met with the village boys, played volleyball with them at the playground, planted trees in the Friendship Alley and took part in laying the sports ground.
On the last day of the visit, foreign guests were presented the certificates and souvenirs. The school press center issued a wall newspaper with reviews of the children where German friends shared their impressions about the school and about Kazakhstan as a whole, noted the Kazakh friendliness and hospitality. The guys admitted that they have learned a lot about Kazakhstan.
