Room number 1 in the school library provides a calm and informal environment that feels almost like home. This space is convenient for preparing lessons, completing study tasks, working on computers, listening to music, and relaxing.
The school library offers the following:
✔ Information about available library and information resources, and access to information sources.
✔ Teaching of algorithms and technologies for searching and critically evaluating information, as well as the development of educational and methodological materials on the basics of information culture for users.
✔ Promotion of the development of users’ ability to self-educate, and introduction of students to the treasures of world and domestic culture.
The school library creates a unified information and educational space for the school, offering comprehensive library and information services to students, teachers, and other school staff.
The library provides following services:
✔ Subscription service for borrowing books to take home;
✔ Reading room service for working with periodicals, reference literature, rare editions, CDs, and other resources.

The library provides access to the following information resources:
✔Book collection, which includes educational, methodological, artistic, popular science, and reference literature
✔Periodicals collection, which includes newspapers and magazines.
✔Electronic publications collection.
✔Reference and bibliographic apparatus, such as catalogues and file cabinets.
The library has over 30,000 copies in its book collection, with 30% consisting of fiction in Kazakh, Russian, and English, 5% reference and encyclopedic literature, 60% popular science, and 5% methodological literature.

Electronic Educational Resources:
Electronic educational resources are an integral part of the information and educational environment at Nazarbayev Intellectual School. Readers have access to the EBSCOhost, TWIG-BILIM, and Bilimland databases. Access to these electronic resources is available with a login and password. Users can view information online and download resources to their computers.
Library projects to promote reading
✔ The Project “100 Books Recommended for Reading by Students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” aims to support trilingual education, encourage the study of history and culture, and foster tolerance for different cultures through reading literature in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
As part of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO initiative, a list of 100 books has been prepared for students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. The list includes 60 well-known works of Kazakh classics and 40 masterpieces of world literature, each to be read in its original language.

✔ D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) is a daily 20-minute break when all students and school staff take time to enjoy reading their favorite books.
✔ READx is a series of inspiring talks by interesting individuals who share their discoveries about reading. These ideas are worth spreading, and the knowledge and experiences shared by READx speakers are valuable for everyone.
✔ 123 is a program in which students read a book every day for 30 days, spending 20 minutes on each session. After reading, they write a 3-minute note about what they read, fill in a registration card, and receive a daily stamp from the librarian.
✔ Surprise Book – a school community event held in celebration of International Children’s Book Day where members exchange books en masse with one another.
✔ «Starting with a book» campaign aims to promote a culture of reading among seventh graders. On September 1, high school students give interesting books to seventh graders.
✔ Memoro is a memory project aimed at organizing students’ work in creating video memories with the participation of elder people.
✔ Bookcrossing is a social network event held annually as part of the celebration of the Day of the First President. Between 2012 and 2018, over 25,000 copies of books were donated as part of this event.
✔ Reader’s Club «Book. Tea. Talk.» unites students from grades 7 to 12 who are interested in reading fiction. The program of the club is aimed at developing language skills and revealing the intellectual and creative potential of the students.
