We are pleased to welcome you to the website of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana!

The Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana was the first school opened under the “Intellectual Nation-2020” project. Speaking at the school’s opening ceremony on January 12, 2009, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Abishuly Nazarbayev noted that this school is for talented children who will be comprehensively prepared for future activities in the fields of science, economics, and politics.

In October 2016, the school received international accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS).

The intellectual school provides comfortable conditions and a special friendly atmosphere for children, equipped with modern classrooms, expanded physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, educational and play areas. Sports and gym halls, a library, a dining room, a medical unit, a choreographic and assembly hall, and a greenhouse are located on its territory.

The intellectual school operates on the principle of “full-day school”. In the first half of the day, students study basic and profile subjects that are part of the NIS-Program educational program. After lunch, students have classes that contribute to deepening and expanding their knowledge. The diversity and accessibility of additional programs allow students to achieve academic, physical, personal, and creative growth.

The Intellectual School has developed a multilingual program that provides for the study of second and third languages based on the native language and ensures their successful integration with other subjects. International teachers work at the school. Together with their Kazakhstani colleagues, they practice team-teaching.

Participation in school-wide holidays, festivals, concerts, games, visiting theaters and museums unite the students and teachers of our school into a single community.

The school’s own dining room provides students with three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. If necessary, students are provided with a place in the school’s dormitory.
