On April 23, 2023, a team of specialists from the Council of International Schools (CIS) arrived at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana.

The school joined the Council of International Schools in 2016, and is now undergoing the procedure for re-accreditation to maintain its status.

The accreditation process consists of several stages, which are carried out every five years. The first stage is a preparatory assessment, which was conducted by CIS specialists in September 2021.

The second stage, team evaluation, will begin on April 24, 2023. The CIS team of specialists will evaluate all aspects of school life in more detail, from the quality of teaching to ensuring the safety of students.

Over the course of a week, CIS representatives from 7 countries will attend classes and extracurricular activities, interact with students, teachers, and parents, to assess the extent to which the school’s self-assessment corresponds to advanced standards and principles of international education.

The CIS team will also study the school’s ability to change, the readiness of the teaching staff to constantly improve and achieve the highest quality of education.
