The conference “Science Fair at NIS PhM in Astana” was held in the capital’s Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics. It is the first regional competition of research works for NIS students and urban secondary schools.
As Raigul Kairkenova, Deputy Director of Scientific and Methodological Work, notes, “Science Fair” arouses students’ interest in science and encourages them to solve problems of practical importance for the development of science and culture.
“Science Fair” was held in 10 sections, where more than 150 students presented the results of their scientific research in humanitarian, socio-economic and natural sciences. Students also successfully participated in lectures by scientists, master classes on programming in the Arduino environment and rocket science, and a session of poster presentations.
The researchers’ works were evaluated by competent jury. The experts included: the deputy director of the Institute of State History Zhabai Kaliyev, professor of Nazarbayev University Aigul Smakova, associate professor of Astana International University Daulet Nurakhmetov, candidates of technical sciences, employees of Kazgarysh Kanat Sakhanov and Arman Syzdykov, candidate of biological sciences, associate professor of AMU Zhanna Adamzhanova and others.
The experts appreciated the high level of the presented works, the practical relevance of the projects, and the students’ open-mindedness and enthusiasm for scientific research.
As a result of the work of each section, the most interesting student projects were identified, which were awarded diplomas of Grade I, II and III. All participants received a certificate of participation in the conference.
